Our Goals
Real Leon Soccer Life is an organization that is dedicated to the betterment of life for all children and youth, regardless of background, situation or financial considerations. We are committed to achieving this through the beneficial aspects and outcomes of soccer and team building in conjunction with our partner agencies, donors and volunteers
Soccer, for good reason known as the beautiful game, can and does offer unique opportunities to those involved to feel a part of something bigger than themselves. The history and scope of the sport is massive, and growing larger all the time, particularly in North America. Our soccer specific goal is first to engender a love for sport, a desire to be in a team-like structure, and to teach the fundamentals of the sport, both technical and tactical. We train our athletes in one of two streams, Soccer Life and Soccer Excellence. The life stream teaches the basic fundamentals in a fun yet progressive way, allowing the players to learn in a relatively non-competitive environment, enabling them to grow in their knowledge and fitness within the sport. The excellence stream is geared toward those who choose to expand their knowledge, fitness and abilities to a much higher level, preparing them for potentially further levels of success within the sport. We encourage the athletes in the Life stream to strive to move into the Excellence stream based on work ethic, fitness and desire. Acceptance into the Excellence stream is conditional on these three factors, along with the recommendation of one or more of our coaches. There is no prerequisite for entrance and participation in the Life stream.
While soccer is the primary vehicle by which we attempt to enhance lives through comprehensive training programs, we believe that children an youth can and will be positively impacted by our varied partner agencies as well. Some of these include Nutritionists, Fitness Trainers, Food Distributors/Providers, Financial Planners, and Counselors, among others. To enhance the lives of kids through sport, we believe that at times it is important to invest in their families as well. We wish to offer well rounded and holistic opportunities towards success in both sport and life to all.

Mission Statement
Our mission as Real Leon Soccer Life is primarily to provide and promote life enhancing opportunities to children and youth in our community through the medium of soccer training, fitness and proper nutritional opportunities. It is our goal to help to bring about holistic health to those who would join our club and by extension, to their families, regardless of background or any other factors. We are inclusive of all! Through partnering with a broad variety of individuals, companies and organizations, it is our goal to help to meet many of the needs of our young athletes and their families with assistance towards financial, nutritional, spiritual, emotional and physical wholeness, and in any other way that would be beneficial to those we serve, all while providing a high level of soccer related training. We believe that these higher opportunities to succeed in both sport and life should be readily available to all.
Richard
Réal Léon Soccer Coach
Over the course of the past 15 years, Richard has coached at several levels of soccer, U5 to U17, both boy’s and girl’s teams. His passion for the sport, coupled with his desire to see children and youth accomplish their goals and dreams has led him to the formation of Réal Léon Soccer Life, a soccer specific community with the goal of not only developing soccer players, but also helping in transforming lives through an all of life approach.
A developmental coach at heart, Richard loves to see children and youth grow in their abilities and soccer understanding, as well as their enjoyment of life in general, regardless of their starting point. All children need play…all children need opportunity. That is what he hopes to offer to the kids of the Peterborough community.
